FAQ

Do I need to be good at art to participate in art therapy?

Not at all. There is no “right” way to make art in our sessions, and no past art experience is necessary. Scribbles, marks, and unfinished pieces are completely fine. The focus is on the process of creating and expressing yourself safely, rather than producing a “beautiful” final artwork.

What happens in a first session?

The first session is primarily about building a safe, trusting connection. We will go at your pace to discuss what brings you to therapy, what your needs and goals might be, and how we can best work together. There is no pressure to make art in the first session unless you want to.

Can I get a Medicare rebate for my sessions?

Yes. As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, clients who have a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP are eligible for a Medicare rebate. Please discuss a referral with your GP prior to your first session. (You can view our full fee schedule and rebate amounts on the ‘Services’ tab).

Do you work with NDIS participants?

Yes. We can provide therapeutic supports for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We also offer specialized clinical assessments and reporting for NDIS purposes, particularly for clients where traditional talk-therapy assessments have not been effective.

What if I or my child struggles with verbal communication?

You are entirely welcome here. Art therapy is a highly effective alternative pathway for expression. We have extensive experience supporting individuals who are non-verbal, neurodivergent, or who have hearing, mobility, or visual impairments.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
